  Much improved from a few years ago. Now features a gym; rTMS therapy for patients wishing to have it (less scary than ECT!); greater variety of therapy groups (e.g. music therapy); walking/exercise groups; refurbished 1st and 2nd floors (including nice beds - and they're even adjustable so that you can prop yourself up for reading or watching TV); better signage on the building (easier for visitors to find if driving down Cambridge Street); and nicer lounge areas within the premises. Meals are very good too, if somewhat repetitive. Aspects that aren't so great: nice areas to sit outside are quite limited (but if you can participate in a walking group or even get down to Lake Monger, then this helps); air-conditioning on floors 1 and 2 is frequently too hot or cold (they might have fixed this since last year); little or nothing usually formally organised on weekends (although I suspect this is common in most hospitals); ground floor is a bit 'yuck' and tends to be very noisy; staffing levels are problematic at times which can lead to frustration if you happen to be seeking extra support at those times.

  I saw dr Bennett on two occasions and found the experience to be a complete waste of time and money. The first appt I came to see her in a very bad way and she would not proscribe me anything, not even a basic ssri because I was not on contraception. She sent me off to see a psych at king eddies for an opinion. Stupidly I went back to see her after this and all she was competent in doing was a sales pitch for some course that was completely unsuited to my issues. This is just a tiny snippet of all the other useless stuff she said and I'll be submitting a formal complaint. When I left her office I got the distinct impression that it is a common occurrence that people leave dissatisfied and she has to bulk bill.
